Four Days After Westland Withheld $100K From Priority Waste, Mayor and Deputy Mayor Joined Priority-Sponsored Golf Foursome

WESTLAND PUBLIC POLL On June 8, Mayor Kevin Coleman announced that Westland was withholding $100,000 from Priority Waste following weeks of missed and delayed collections. The City also said it was pursuing additional contractual penalties. Deputy Mayor Jim Godbout then appeared on WXYZ discussing the dispute. Godbout said the $100,000 withholding “may actually be on the low end” and explained that additional penalties for missed pickups could push the amount higher. Four days after Coleman's announcement, on June 12, Coleman and Godbout participated in a golf foursome registered under Priority Waste at the Westland Police Community Partnership golf outing. The Priority Waste foursome consisted of: Paul Ruthenberg, Vice President, Municipal Relations, Priority Waste Mayor Kevin Coleman, City of Westland Deputy Mayor Jim Godbout, City of Westland Brett Quitiquit, Manager, Municipal Relations, Priority Waste Considering the active dispute with Priority Waste at the time, was it appropriate for Westland's Mayor and Deputy Mayor to participate in a Priority Waste-sponsored golf foursome?
